  • Meet the new chapter board and its key priorities for 2019

On 2nd April the IMA French Chapter held its general assembly to renew some of its board members and discuss its plans for 2019 and beyond.

    Evolution of the board:

Bryan Barr, founder and President of the French chapter for the past 5 years and Brittany Blanc, founder and Secretary also for 5 years, handed over their responsibilities in order to support the chapter in different ways. We thank them warmly for their dedication and support to the IMA, which contributed hugely in raising awareness of the IMA and the CMA certification in France.
Hélène Hertz, HEC Paris, CMA, previously VP Continuous Education, was elected President.
Clement Nguyen, CPA, CMA, Diplômé d'Expertise Comptable, was elected new Secretary.
Charbel Khalil, Msc 2 graduate from Université du droit et de la santé de Lille, CMA candidate, was elected VP Communication.

We congratulate them for their appointment and wish them best of luck in their new roles.

Laurence Houlbert, our Treasurer, and Jan Tijn Poelhekke, VP for Membership Development, keep their current functions. Bryan Barr remains a key board member, in charge of Ethics and Special Activities.  Brittany Blanc will be on maternity leave for the rest of the year.

Key priorities for 2019 were also discussed:

    • Raise awareness on IMA and the value of the CMA® certification, with a focus on universities and academic institutions.
    • Grow membership base and loyalty with regular live conferences/training sessions delivering CPEs.
    • Provide our members with better visibility of impacts of technological innovations (AI, Blockchain…) on financial jobs in the future.

Key dates to pinpoint in your agenda:

22nd May – Live event with 1,5 CPE related to “How to be successful in conflict negotiation”? The event will take place in Toulouse Business School campus in central Paris.

End of September (date TBC) – Live event in Paris dedicated to impact of new technologies on future jobs in finance.

November – (date TBC) – Live event in Paris “Ethics and Compliance: what’s in there for me?”

Looking forward to see you all,

    The French Chapter Board. More
